West Allis, WI - On Friday, Angelica D. Belen, 24, was identified by  Fox6Now as the mother of Alex and Adrian ages 4 and Nayeli, 5, who died on Thursday afternoon in a house fire. The children were home alone when the blaze was reported and firefighters arrived at 5:19 p.m. to put out the fire. The bodies of the three children were later found in the second floor bedroom, according to police.
A fourth child, the youngest was with Belen's estranged husband, Wilfredo Belen. She failed to pickup the child on Thursday and remained with his father. Wilfredo is feeling lucky today that his child wasn't pickup by Belen or the baby would have been a victim as well.
Belen was taken into custody after she returned home and is cooperating with West Allis police investigators. She has not been charged in the deaths of her children.
In late March, Belen was charged with six counts of child neglect in an unrelated case. She is expected to be in court on that case on May 3 for a final pretrial hearing.
