Milwaukee,  WI - On Monday, Alejandro Arguello, 20, appeared in a Milwaukee County court to face five felony counts of possession of child pornography, according to court records. The Wisconsin Department of Justice agents took Arguello into custody last week after he downloaded multiple images of child pornography. Agents confiscated his laptop with child porno images in the drive.
Arguello admitted to investigators that he downloaded the images, but hadn't acted on his urge to be attracted to young boys. He became interested on young boys when he came upon the images on the Internet, according to the criminal complaint.
A $500 cash bond was set for Arguello and he is expected back in court for a preliminary hearing on April 10.
The Internet has numerous links to foreign country websites that provide child pornography, but it becomes illegal to download images while in the U.S. The child porno sites have not discriminately been targeted for shutdown by federal authorities in the U.S. or by foreign governments, eventhough laws have been passed to make them illegal.
State and federal authorities also track suspects downloading the child porno images from clandestine websites within the U.S. and then are charged with felony counts for possession of child pornography.
It is also a federal felony for U.S. Citizens to travel abroad to engage in a sexual encounter with a child in another country.
