Milwaukee, WI - On Friday, four Milwaukee County Supervisors sent out a memo to 14 other supervisors asking for support to oust Milwaukee County Board Chairwoman Marina Dimitrijevic, according to county sources. They would like an answer by Monday, April 29, so they could request for Supervisor Dimitrijevic to resign as Chair. If some fail to answer to the memo, Supervisors Deanna Alexander, Mark Borkowski, Steve Taylor and John Weishan will initiate a procedure to oust Dimitrijevic from her position. Mostly, the supervisor coup won't have enough votes to succeed in the attempt to remove Dimitrijevic as Chair, according to county sources.
No reasoning was provided for an attempt to oust Dimitrijevic as County Board Chairwoman, but it comes a day after the Board voted 15-3 to slash their own salaries by 20%, including staff and Board budget by half of $6.6 million. Also, four year terms will be cut to two year terms after 2016 provided the state legislature approves the resolution passed by the Board.
