Chicago, Illinois - Last Wednesday,  Alderman Howard B. Brookins Jr. from the 21 ward sponsored and proposed a city litter ordinance along with 18 other aldermen that would like to increase the fines for littering or throwing liquids from vehicle windows between $150 to $1,500. The litter ordinance would also require police to impound the vehicle from which the litter or liquid was thrown out of the window.
The current fine is $50 to $200 for littering, but a vehicle can't be impounded.
