Callaway Shoots Self In The Head To Avoid Arrest For Negron's Homicide

Indiana police stopped Callaway on a bike trail, but then pulled out a handgun and committed suicide.

Bloomington, Indiana - On Tuesday, an Indiana State police detective spotted Eddie Donald Callaway, 26, riding along the B-Line bike trail and called for backup. A Bloomington police officer intercepted Callaway on the bike trail and ordered him to surrender, Callaway while on the ground reached for a handgun from his waist around 10:30 p.m. and then shot himself in the head. He died at the scene.
Callaway had fled to Indiana where his family lives to avoid prosecution for Negron's murder.
Callaway had been on the run for eight days after he fled from Waukesha, Wisconsin for fatally shooting Shenel A. "Nani" Negron, 24, in front of a residence she shared with the suspect. Callaway was charged in absentia with one felony count of first-degree intentional homicide.
