Chicago, Illinois - On Friday, Kathryn Stalbaum, 15, from the Town of Genesee who has been missing since last Tuesday turned herself to a Chicago police officer for help, according to the Chicago Police Department. Stalbaum approached the officer and told him that she had been missing from Wisconsin.
Authorities are now trying to get information how Stalbaum disappeared and ended up in Chicago.
Waukesha authorities found her teal bicycle abandoned near the Waukesha Memorial Hospital. She was riding the bicycle and text a friend that she was going to catch a school bus around 6:30 a.m., but she never made it or was heard from since Tuesday.
The Crime Stoppers of Waukesha County and the Waukesha Deputy Sheriff's Association were offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to finding Stalbaum.
The FBI and the U.S. Marshal Service were involved in her search.
